Defendant was charged with the crime of possession of a narcotic (heroin) in violation of Health and Safety Code, section 11500. It was further alleged in the information that he had been previously convicted of the crime of illegal sale of marijuana, a felony. He entered a plea of not guilty and admitted the prior conviction.
