The city of Detroit, Michigan, and its treasurer, plaintiffs in this cause, brought action in the circuit court of Cook County, Illinois, to recover personal property taxes for 1954 and 1955 based upon the Michigan general tax laws, the charter of the city of Detroit, and the municipal code of the city of Detroit.
