Plaintiff commenced this suit in Common Pleas Court by filing a petition against three defendants, namely, Johnson, Drake & Piper, Inc., Smith & Oby Company, and the Ford Motor Company, to recover damages for injuries sustained when a step ladder fell upon him from the platform of a scaffolding approximately 30 feet above the place where he was working.
