This is a petition for a writ of mandate to require the respondent court to release the petitioner from probation.

The petitioner was charged in the superior court with nine counts of grand theft and thereafter pleaded guilty to seven counts of petty theft. On January 31, 1950, he was sentenced to the county jail for six months on each of the seven counts and the sentences were directed to run consecutively...
