These are two actions of trespass on the case for negligence to recover damages for personal injuries caused by the operation of the defendant William J. Phaneuf's tractor trailer by his servant and agent. The cases were tried together in the superior court to a jury, which returned a verdict for the plaintiff in each case in the amount of $20,000. Each defendant filed a motion for a new trial, which was granted unless the plaintiff filed a remittitur...
