Mary Willis died on January 8, 1920, leaving a will and codicil by which, inter alia, she provided as follows:
"FOURTEENTH: One-third of what remains of my estate, real, personal or mixed, I give, and bequeath unto my Trustees hereinafter named, IN TRUST, nevertheless, for the use and benefit of my said son, Charles Carmalt Willis, if he survive me, so long as he shall live.
