After a jury trial in the probate court of Cook County, Gertrude Macdonald was found to be an "incompetent person," "incapable of managing and controlling her estate," and the court appointed a conservator for her, letters of conservatorship being issued on March 30, 1938, to the Metropolitan Trust Company. Seventeen years later, on May 13, 1955, she filed a petition in the same court...
