This is a suit against the United States by the Uintah and White River Bands of Ute Indians. They assert, and the Government denies, that this court has jurisdiction of the case under the special Ute Jurisdictional Act of June 28, 1938, as amended.1 By section 1 of that Act this court is authorized to "hear, determine, and render final judgment on all legal and equitable claims of whatsoever nature which the Ute Indians...
