This action was commenced May 1, 1953, by the United States, pursuant to the Renegotiation Act of 1943, as amended (50 U.S.C.A.Appendix, § 1191), to recover excessive profits in the amount of $1,270,000, allegedly realized by the defendant under its contracts and subcontracts subject to renegotiation during its fiscal year ending November 30, 1943.
