On or about August 1, 1938, Dawson Phillips and wife, Jessie Phillips, were the owners of a 10-acre tract of land, more or less, situated in the James A. Haynie Survey in Smith County, Texas. On such date, they were indebted to Helen Wadel in the sum of $1,000. An agreement was entered into whereby Phillips and wife sold to Eugene Goss and wife, Irene Goss, an undivided ½ interest in and to said tract of land for the consideration of the assumption...
