Morris Weiss, Harry Joseph Ridley and George Samuel Miller were jointly charged with violation of section 337a, subdivision 1 of the Penal Code in that they engaged in pool selling and bookmaking; in a second count they were charged with violation of subdivision 2 of the section in that they maintained a room and apartment for the purpose of recording and registering bets; in a third count, Ridley and Weiss were accused of registering bets.
