The plaintiff, Lawson Williams, employed as a laborer, instituted this suit against the defendant, his employer, Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans, endeavoring to recover workmen's compensation at the rate of $30 per week for a period of 400 weeks, together with $1,000 for medical expenses, for total and permanent disability resulting from injuries which he incurred on December 28, 1953, at about 5:00 P.M., when he was struck by an automobile...
