This is an appeal from a judgment of the Superior Court granting, upon the application of the plaintiff, an order in the nature of a mandamus requiring the defendant, director of public works of New Haven, to reinstate the plaintiff as an employee of the city in a position from which the defendant had discharged him. The appeal raises the question whether an amendment to the New Haven charter gave the plaintiff...
