The controversy involved in this action arises out of the laying out in 1953 of state highway No. 3 through Pierce County, across the farm of the plaintiff. Plaintiff's farm consisted of the W½ and the NE¼ of the SW¼ of Section 20, and the NW¼ of the NW¼ of Section 29, all in Township 153 North, Range 72 West, a total of 160 acres.
