MESSMORE, Justice.

This is an action in replevin commenced in the county court of Johnson County by C. E. Rice, plaintiff, to recover possession of a certain polled Hereford bull, against John J. McGrath, defendant, for wrongfully detaining said bull in his possession, or for the value of the bull if the same was not returned, and for damages and costs expended by the plaintiff.
