The defendant was charged in an information in the county of Santa Barbara with the crime of violation of section 11500 of the Health and Safety Code, a felony, in that he did, on or about, October 14, 1955, unlawfully possess heroin. It was further alleged that the defendant had suffered four prior convictions, namely, robbery in 1938, the Federal Narcotic Act in 1945, each under the name of Ray M. Teran, forgery in 1950, and a violation of section 11721...
