This is an action brought to recover damages because of the loss of a certain Three-quarter Ton Dodge Weapon Carrier of the Government.

In April 1945, defendant was an officer in the United States Air Force stationed at St. Andre', France. The Village of St. Andre' was part of an Air Force Installation or Base.
