Claimant worked as a taxi driver for the Yellow Cab Company in Pittsburgh from August 18, 1954, to October 2, 1954. He did not return for work after October 2, 1954 and did not give his employer notice of the reason for his continued absence. On October 14, 1954, when he had been away from his work for a period of twelve consecutive days, the employer, in accordance with the applicable provision of a union contract, removed claimant...
