Louisiana Power & Light Company instituted two suits in the Third Judicial District Court to expropriate a right of way 100 feet wide for the construction of transmission lines carrying 110,000 volts of electricity. The transmission lines were to lead from plaintiff's generating plant near Sterlington, Louisiana, in a westerly direction to an electric substation to be located near Arcadia, Louisiana.
