Plaintiff's intestate, a 17-year-old boy, was killed in a fall while riding as a jockey in a race at defendant's track, Cahokia Downs, near East St. Louis, Illinois. A jury trial in the Circuit Court of Madison County resulted in a verdict for plaintiff. The trial court, however, entered judgment for defendant notwithstanding the verdict.
