Ruchamkin and the tanker Washington, of The Texas Oil Company, collided in the Atlantic about 50 miles off the coast of Virginia, just below Cape Henry, soon after two o'clock on the morning of November 14, 1952, with resulting loss of life and personal injuries as well as damage to both ships.
