Beginning in the year 1903, the appellant Five Lakes Outing Club bought about 3,000 acres of land on the peninsula of Horseshoe Lake in Crittenden County, Arkansas. There are four small lakes on the peninsula purchased by the club: Mud, Cleaver, Goose and Brushy Lakes; Porter Lake is also in that vicinity. In 1954, the club constructed a levee across Mud Lake at its west end, near the point where it joins Horseshoe Lake, and a levee across Cleaver...
