Plaintiff's original petition claimed damages for personal injuries sustained in a fall on an icy sidewalk in Sioux City in front of the property of defendant Siegel. It alleged negligence on the part of the two defendants, the city and Siegel, in failing to remove snow and ice accumulations from the sidewalk.
