Appellee, Charles Smith, was injured while working as a carpenter in the construction of two houses on a 70-acre subdivision owned and being developed by appellant, J. A. West, just outside the city of El Dorado, Arkansas. Smith filed a claim for compensation before the Workmen's Compensation Commission against the appellant and appellee, W. M. Holder.
