The first alleges that for the calendar year 1948 defendant did wilfully and knowingly attempt to defeat and evade a large part of income tax due and owing by filing or causing to be filed a false and fraudulent tax return in violation of Section 145(b) of the Internal Revenue Code, Section 145(b), Title 26 U.S.C.
