The decedent had been employed as a pressman in a printing plant. While he was at work washing or cleaning one of the printing presses, he suddenly fell to the floor. He was found lying face down, in an aisle between the presses and two tables. The fall itself was unwitnessed; a "loud thud" was heard by the employer's production manager and, when he turned around, he found the decedent on the floor, bleeding from the eyes, ears and nose.
