The plaintiff brought suit in the Superior Court of Baltimore City against Waterman Steamship Corporation, owner of the S.S. "La Salle", for permanent injuries alleged to have been sustained by him, while working as a stevedore aboard that vessel, as a result of a fall through a hatch from one deck to another. At the time of the fall the ship was docked at a pier in the harbor...
