At about 9 p. m. on April 26, 1954, plaintiff was injured while crossing Twenty-Second avenue near the intersection of Sixty-First street in Kenosha. Street lights and other lights in the vicinity were on. Plaintiff crossed Twenty-Second avenue, a north-south street, in an easterly direction, walking on the marked crosswalk to a safety island located in the center of Twenty-Second avenue on the north side of Sixty-First street.
