The question submitted for decision is whether in an adoption proceeding pending in the district court of a given county, based upon written consent of the parents to the adoption of their infant child, the trial court may grant the parents' motion to withdraw their previous consent, and at the same time retain jurisdiction to declare the child a ward of the court and place it under the control and direction of New Mexico Department of Public Welfare...
