The defendant was convicted by the verdict of a jury in the Circuit Court of Minnehaha County under an information charging him with having committed on October 30, 1953, the crime of indecent molestation of a six-year old girl in violation of the provisions of SDC Supp. 13.1727 which provides: "Indecent molestation of a minor child shall be a felony and punishable by imprisonment in the South Dakota State Penitentiary for not more than twenty years...
