This suit is for taxes for 1951 and 1952, levied on 46 tracts of land, amounting to approximately 35,000 acres, in San Augustine County. It was brought by the State in its own behalf and in behalf of San Augustine County and 12 common school districts in that county. The defendants were the Southwestern Settlement & Development Corporation, which owns the surface of the land, and three corporations which own the mineral estate therein, namely...
