Bean, a welder's helper, instituted this suit against the defendants, Higgins, Inc., his employer, and Columbia Casualty Company, its liability insurer, endeavoring to recover compensation at the rate of $30 per week for a period of 400 weeks less compensation previously paid, plus attorneys' fees and penalties, for permanent total disability as the result of an injury incurred by him on September 18, 1953, when his right hand...
