SMITH, Justice.

This is an action by Mary L. Crist, hereinafter called plaintiff, against Washington, Virginia and Maryland Coach Company, Incorporated, hereinafter called defendant, to recover $375,000 for personal injuries claimed to have been sustained when the defendant's bus on which she was riding as a passenger ran into a curb and threw her from her seat to the floor.
