On the 18th day of July, 1949, the plaintiff and defendant were divorced by decree of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. On 5 August 1952 the plaintiff filed her amended complaint in the Circuit Court of Multnomah County, Oregon, seeking the establishment in that court of the Illinois divorce decree and praying for the enforcement thereof as an Oregon decree.
