Clarence Orville Stevens, the appellant, was charged with wilfully and knowingly devising a scheme to defraud the Cambridge State Bank at Cambridge, Iowa, a small town outside of Des Moines, and carrying out or putting into effect the scheme by use of the United States mails, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1341.
