On Feb. 24, 1952 plaintiff Martin Troy was driving his car in a southerly direction on a graveled highway, Louisiana Highway No. 5, from Whitehall toward Opelousas, Louisiana, and seated beside him was his brother, Ben Troy, and in the rear seat were Mrs. Felix Blanchard and her daughter, Lydia.
