Charles D. Arnold was charged by information in the district court of McCurtain County with the murder of one Homer Highfill by cutting him with a certain pocket knife. The case was tried to a jury, resulting in a verdict of guilty of manslaughter in the first degree, with punishment fixed by the jury at ten years in the State penitentiary at McAlester.
