The relator, Alvin Ward, pleaded guilty to attempted grand larceny, second degree, on July 9, 1952, in the Court of General Sessions, New York County. Being twenty-three years of age and having never before been convicted of a felony, he was sentenced to imprisonment in Elmira Reformatory.
