Steadman was indicted, tried and convicted for the homicide of one Porter Smith. His conviction was for voluntary manslaughter with the maximum punishment fixed at no more than two years and a day in the State Prison from which this appeal comes. He has seasonably assigned 13 errors, all of which will be considered, first or last, in this opinion though they will not be considered seriatim.
