Defendant was charged with and convicted by a jury of the crime of forgery of a fictitious name. The jury also found that defendant had suffered five prior felony convictions and served time therefor in prison. At the trial defendant refused the services of his counsel and proceeded with his counsel acting only in an advisory capacity.
