Petitioner was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Missouri State Penitentiary, for murder in the first degree, by the Circuit Court of Mississippi County, Missouri. Subsequent to his confinement therein, he instituted habeas corpus proceedings in the Circuit Court of Cole County, Missouri, seeking his release on a claim of denial of due process of law occurring at his trial.
