This is an appeal from a judgment for damages entered in favor of plaintiff-respondent upon a jury's verdict. Respondent was injured when he fell from the edge of a sidewalk into and upon appellant Oeste's property. This property, at the time of the accident, was a vacant city lot, the surface of which lay some 8 feet below the edge of the sidewalk from which respondent fell.
