The appellant was charged and convicted for the violation of Title 36, § 128, Cum. Pocket Part, Code 1940. Subsection 1 of this statute provides:

"The driver of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to or death of any person, or damage to a vehicle, shall immediately stop such vehicle at the scene of such accident, and shall also give his name and address, and the registration...
