Plaintiffs brought this action to recover certain unemployment insurance contributions assessed and paid under protest pursuant to the Unemployment Insurance Act. (Stats. 1935, p. 1226, as amended; 3 Deering's Gen. Laws, Act 8780d.) The assessments were for the period January 1, 1944, through September 30, 1947, and amounted to $5,348.20.
