Edward Kalinoski, a resident of Detroit, signed on at New York August 12, 1950, as third assistant engineer on the S.S. "Joliet Victory," owned and operated by the Alaska Steamship Company, for a voyage to the Far East and return. He developed a gum infection and was given a medical discharge...
