This is an appeal from a directed verdict for the defendant.

Appellant, a citizen of Puerto Rico, charged that defendant corporation, through its employees, or agents, acting within the scope of their employment had him falsely arrested and violently beaten without provocation, willfully and maliciously, thereby causing him great humiliation, loss of time in his employment, pain and anguish, for which he demanded the sum of $75,000...
