The defendant Lillian Easterling was charged by an information filed in the District Court of Pontotoc County with the crime of murder, it being alleged in the information that she made an assault upon one Eugene Carnell with a pocket knife on December 22, 1951, by stabbing the said Eugene Carnell, and that as a result of the wounds thus inflicted he died on January 1, 1952.
