CLEARY, Justice.

This is an action of contract on a special declaration. The defendants pleaded the general issue. Trial was by jury with a verdict and judgment for the plaintiff against both defendants. The case is here on the exceptions of the defendants, jointly, and severally, to the admission of evidence and to the denial of their motion for a directed verdict.
