On October 29, 1952, this suit was instituted in the name of the State on relation of the District Attorney General of the 20th Judicial Circuit, against Grover Lee Trent, Circuit and Criminal Clerk of Hamblen County, Tennessee, to remove said Clerk from office, declare a vacancy in said office, and to appoint a successor pro tempore. Among other things, the petition alleged that Defendant had been indicted on September 15, 1952, in the United States...
