Plaintiff sued Tevis Mellon and Western Union Telegraph Company, Mellon's employer, for false arrest and false imprisonment. A jury returned its verdict in favor of plaintiff as against both defendants. The motion of defendant Mellon for judgment notwithstanding the verdict was denied and that of defendant Western Union was granted.
